Assalamualaikum, today we want to share
about Casu Marzu. Casu Marzu is actually
a sheep milk cheese and also containing
small insert larvae. The casu Marzu is
coming from Sardinia.
History
The casu marzu was invented in a long time ago.
It was made by Sardinians. The casu marzu
are similar to pecorino which mean an Italian cheese
that are made from the sheep’s milk. One day,
the cheese maker decided want to put the
casu marzu at ouside. He just left it without
cover it with anything. The flies came and lays
the eggs on it and the eggs hatch,the
white manggots live on it.

By doing that, the manggots produce
and enzime, that cause the casu marzu
has low fats.
Until now, the casu marzu are become
famous amoung Sardinians people.
Casu marzu also was banned by the Italian
because of it qualities. It not only look
disgust, but not good to eat. But nowadays,
the Sardinians people keep eat it as their traditional food.
How to Make it ?
Actually I can’t find the recipe to make
the casu marzu because the casu marzu
are banned by the Italian. So, it is a illegal
food. I think it same as the recipe how to make
the cheese, you just need to put it outside
without cover it with anything and let the
flies come. If you want to try it, you can buy
it from the black market at Italy.
Conclusion
The conclusion is, I did not know what is are
special about the casu marzu. This is because
it actually did not has any benefits.
The casu marzu just has low fat rather then
other cheese,but it still not good to eat.
To me, I would not eat it, because of the manggots
on the cheese. I really had no idea how
the Sardinians people love to eat the
casu marzu even the government was banned it.
